Hi, I'm Syl, an Earth Science PhD candidate! From May 23 to June 3, 2026, I walked 250 miles from NYC to DC as a co-organizer of the Weather and Climate Livestream, interviewing 14 weather and climate experts along the way. The walk was inspired by federal budget cuts threatening the science behind our disaster forecasts, our planting seasons, and our plans for a changing climate. I was blown away when 300 letters arrived from people who shared those concerns, and I was lucky enough to hand-deliver these letters to seven members of Congress at a press conference in DC upon my arrival.
